Sending information securely
Sending passwords (or other private info) through email is a Bad Idea.
Your email is NOT secure and NOT private!
Here are some other ways to send info privately ...
from easiest to trickiest.
How to do it
-
Send with Skype chat or Skype phone.
-
Send in phone call or sms.
-
Zip a text file containing the infos and protect it with a password.
Email that file as an attachment.
Then send the password in a different email.
-
PGP Desktop:
An encryption software — fully functional 30 days trial:
http://www.pgp.com/downloads/desktoptrial/desktoptrial2.html
Runs on Windows and Mac only.
-
Use PGP in mail: exchange private and public keys to electronically
sign the email, thus encrypting it.
Remember that "harder to do" is also "more secure" ...
so which you choose, depends on how important that info is.
