Stop BadWare
http://www.stopbadware.org
A "Neighborhood Watch" campaign aimed at fighting badware, with good information on how to protect yourself. Google will show if a site has been found to have bad software, using this site's information. "What's particularly tricky about badware is that you may not know that you downloaded it. Some badware manufacturers bundle it with other programs without disclosing that it's part of the package. Others put their programs on your PC when you visit certain websites or play online games."

CMU Usable Privacy and Security Lab (CUPS)
http://cups.cs.cmu.edu
"Established in the Spring of 2004 to bring together Carnegie Mellon University researchers working on a diverse set of projects related to understanding and improving the usability of privacy and security software and systems. The privacy and security research community has become increasingly aware that usability problems severely impact the effectiveness of mechanisms designed to provide security and privacy in software systems. Indeed, one of the four grand research challenges in information security and assurance identified by the Computing Research Association in 2003 is: 'Give end-users security controls they can understand and privacy they can control for the dynamic, pervasive computing environments of the future.' This is the challenge that CUPS strives to address."

OpenID
http://openid.net/
"An open, decentralized, free framework for user-centric digital identity. OpenID starts with the concept that anyone can identify themselves on the Internet the same way websites do-with a URI (also called a URL or web address). Since URIs are at the very core of Web architecture, they provide a solid foundation for user-centric identity."
