Access to the documents will depend on Drupal and also on security of the server. > So you think we should be Okay in terms of security with TibetBridge/HostGator? I think HostGator is as secure as any you can get outside of special cases like security-maniac, or large governments. Given that, i can give information, but i can't give recommendation -- each person's security needs are their own responsibility. i can't think of any more to say than the info i sent you, including the excellent page at http://blog.hostgator.com/2008/06/27/prevent-sites-from-being-hacked/ There is no system that is 100% secure. It is like walking down the road -- just by being there you are open to robbery, car accidents, dust, and cowshit -- so you take precautions according to your tolerance for these things. So given a reasonable safe server (road), security is even more dependent on the site developer and users (the people walking on the road), than it is on the server itself. If you allow any of your passwords to be like 'freetibet', or anything with '1959' in them, i wash my hands of you :D > And our website is built with Drupal CMS and I have no idea what difference, ... I haven't researched the security differences (if any) between the different CMSs. I imagine a google for something like security cms drupal wordpress joomla would bring up good info. Just curious ... > Krystal but it is at least $75/month as opposed to $5-8/month (A huge difference!!!) Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla are the most popular CMSs around these days. They are all free and open source. Is this monthly charge for the software, or is it the web developer's charge? And a thought ... Who is going to support the CMS (fixes, plug-ins, upgrades, security issues) after it is all up and running? Best, -- james --0--
